Golden Pines! Rustic yet fine dining with a casual relaxed atmosphere. Conveniently located between
Eagle River and Minocqua on Hwy 70 in St. Germain, Wisconsin. Directly across from
The Rustic Manor Motor Lodge. The current owners, Chuck & Sharon, opened the restaurant in 1995
after restoring both the exterior and interior to its original splendor.
The full log structure with ceiling heights of 32 feet, built in 1931, was known for years as Molgaard's Indian Lodge. After lying dormant for four years Chuck
and Sharon converted it to a year-round business. The addition of
two new fireplaces in the lounge area and main dining room provide a warm and cozy atmosphere for the
Northwoods winter enthusiasts. The installation of central air conditioning for the comfort of summer clientele
is a well received amenity.
The unique factor of Golden Pines is not just the building but also in the preperation of the food it serves. All of the soups, sauces and salad dressings
are homemade daily with fresh ingredients, as are the entrees themselves.
The Chicken Kiev and Chicken Cordon
Bleu are handmade from scratch and breaded to order, as are our
Weiner & Rahm Schnitzel,
Chicken
and Veal Oscars, the
Shrimp and our Scallops. Golden Pines extensive menu offers a wide variety of choices,
from
specialty appetizers,
steaks,
chops,
seafood, and
ethnic entrees.
Lighter foods,
vegetarian
selections and
sandwiches for children, health conscious people and seniors who may have lighter
appetites also serve as menu favorites.
Our
Prime Rib,
Roast Duck and
German entrees are the house specialties and are served daily.
Thursday is German night, and of course, it wouldn't be the Northwoods without a Friday Night
Fish Fry.
Our cozy lounge offers a full line of cocktails, including non-alcohol cocktails, beer, domestic
and interternational wines. Because it's Golden Pines, all cocktails are homemade from scratch in
the traditional old fashioned way.
